Albert Art Raccoon Tanooki Mario Toy2r Qee Custom Toy

PUT A TAIL ON IT!

I'm having too much fun designing and customizing these characters. Raccoon/Tanooki Mario with a real tail. Okay, so maybe not a real raccoon's tail, but it's faux fur tail (PETA friendly).

Hand-painted, 1-of-1 custom 8 inch Cat Qee.

This one is for sale, so contact me for deets, or request a commission.

Albert Art Ness MonQee Custom Vinyl Toy

NEW TOY!!!

The year is coming to a quick close, but not until I drop my last toy of 2012. This one is definitely for the gamers.

Albert Art Custom 'Ness MonQee' vinyl toy. I was commissioned to do this piece as a Holiday gift for a retro gaming fan in NYC. It turned out quite nicely. Hand-painted, 8 inch, one-of-a-kind custom Toy2R Qee.

Gamers might recognize the lil' guy from the cult Nintendo favourite Earthbound

Long time Albert Art fans might remember my custom Ness Munny. Though, I think the Qee platform is much better suited to characters like Ness.

2012, was a busy year for me, with lots of art, and of course lots of toys. I'm always happy to take commissions from fans of my work.

See you in the new year and thanks for your support!

Year In Review Albert Art x Director Showreel (HD)

2012 Recap
So, you may have noticed I do some film and video work from time to time when not doing comics or painting toys. This year I completed a two-year indie short film called '451' a short fan film based on the work of Ray Bradbury. I've also been experimenting with stop motion animation, and shooting promotional work for small local businesses. I've cut together a selection of my work in a new showreel and hope to be doing even more in the New Year.

Homeless Quatchi and Friends has been growing in popularity with each event I've attended. Currently at two issues of former-Olympic mascot misadventures, I plan on finishing the short series in 2013 in time for Fan Expo Vancouver (April) and Vancouver Comic Arts Festival (May). The response has been very positive, though some parents aren't interested in showing this comic to their kids despite the G rated content.

I've also been painting up a storm of custom vinyl toys, and videogame themed paintings which have proved popular with gamers and toy collectors. Glad fans are enjoying it all because I'm having fun making them. I do take commissions, and all toys up for sale.

I've also been using Google+ quite extensively and I've been happy with the engagement with all sorts of users. The mobile App is also quite good. Feel free to check out my stuff at +Albert Art  +The Homeless Quatchi Project +ALBERT ART CREATIVE

This year was pretty busy, so long to 2012, and hello to 2013.

Qee Story Stop Motion Animation Albert Art

STOP MOTION QEE

Here's a quick project I made within a few hours. I basically took the custom vinyl toys that I've painted, and created a little silent film, with stop motion techniques.

Something short and sweet, and not too complicated. It's these little ideas I get that I have to get out!

Featured in the video are 3 Mini-Qees, and one 2.5 inch Qee Letterman the Hound, which was featured in Artist Series 2 of the Skelanimals x Toy2R collaboration.

Enjoy!

Albert Art So So Happy Moodee Custom Qee Toy

SO SO MOODEE

Here's a full reveal of my custom Qee for the So So Happy Project collab with Toy2R. The travelling toy show features many cool artists, and will be on display at various cons, and art shows throughout the year. The most popular ones with the most feedback will probably go into production, so be sure to let Toy2R and So So Happy know which toys you like! Hint Hint.

Albert Art THUG-SH STORMHAMMER CUSTOM UNISON LAB TOY

THUG LIFE!!!

THUG SQUAD, ASSEMBLE!!! April has been a pretty busy month for me, working on 6 different customs toys within a few weeks, was a tall order. The challenge was giving each toy the time they deserve to really make them the best they could be within the time frame.

All three customs took about a month to produce, mainly because I was so busy with preparing for Fan Expo Vancouver. I was working on these THUG toys at the same time as my Easter 2012 custom Qees.

I first worked on a THUG custom over a year ago and it caught the attention of the Chilean toy company. So I jumped at the chance to work on their latest DIY, which is a totally unique style of toy.

I think I might be the only artist who managed to get a THUG-SH from Unison Lab. Honoured to have had the chance to customize it! The toy is quite the beast with long, heavy arms, and stubby legs, it has a slightly awkward balance if the arms are positioned too far over the head. I think it's around 8" tall, but with the arms raised it looks much taller and intimidating.  This toy required a lot of paint since there's so much space to cover on the toy this size.

Though the cool thing about toys from Unison Lab are the accessories and interchangeable parts of the Stormhammer.

The smaller THUG-GY can attach itself to the handles on the back of the Stormhammer, which is a neat idea if you really wanted to play around with your toys. They also now come with accessories like wearable masks, and weapons!

Together they're from the same universe. I like to think of them as futuristic troops in a squad. Unison Lab also boasts eco-friendly vinyl, which is good to know when picking a canvas to work on.

Lots of work went into these toys. I think I'll take a break to rest. hah

Albert Art Banner Vinyl Fan Expo Vancouver

ALBERT ART EVENT BANNER

It's here, it's finally here! Okay, so it only took a week to get, but it was a long wait. Glad it turned out so nice!

The new banner is printed on poly vinyl material, very thin (10oz), but notoriously difficult to rip and is quite durable.

I'll be using this banner at various shows, cons, and events. The banner will appear at Fan Expo Vancouver April 21-22 at TABLE A65 ARTIST ALLEY. http://www.fanexpovancouver.com/artist-alley-list

Very happy with the result from Rayacom Printers. I highly recommend this shop if you have banners to print. Custom sizes available. http://www.rayacom.com/
