HYPER DRIVE NIGHT DRIVE PART 2 x ALBERT ART CREATIVE

HYPER DRIVE

[Night Drive Part 2 'Hyper Drive'], is an audio-visual trip through city lights. Filmed by +ALBERT ART CREATIVE

Using Panasonic gear, the camera was mounted inside the vehicle, with slow shutter syncro scan, to get light streak effect. Filmed in Vancouver, BC CANADA.

Not much post production. Some color correction, and editing. No computer CGI effects. Practical in-camera effects are always more organic than effects simulated in a computer animation program. Faster and cheaper than creating computer effects. You get a raw, and random feel/timing, DIY aesthetic.

Night Drive Part 2 is a follow up to the 2012 video 'A Night Drive'.

The goal was to create an otherworldly dream-like visual experience that was like going warp speed space travel. Cinematic, and Videogame inspirations.

Music track "DROP IT" by SILENT PARTNER through +YouTube Creator Tools, Audio Library.

Total filming time was around 2 hours, with several hours of editing using +Adobe Creative Suite.

'LONELY MOON' SUPERMOON TIMELAPSE VANCOUVER NIGHT

+ALBERT ART CREATIVE recently produced 'Lonely Moon' Supermoon Timelapse. The video captures the moon as it appeared around the time of Supermoon early August 2014. With minimal editing, and post-production, 'Lonely Moon' is a slow look at the rock in the sky. Take moment to look up at the sky.

FLIGHT SHORT FILM CANON S95

NEW VIDEO

Nothing like looking out the window on a nice day, high up in the air on a flight. I took this video while flying from Toronto to Philly on my way to New York. Shot with the Canon S95 and set to some classical music.

Day Drive Trans-Canada Time Lapse Panavise Canon

DRIVE

I've been watching a bunch of Japanese driving videos lately which has rekindled my love of driving while filming. Today, I took it out for a spin while running an errand. Using the time lapse setting on my Canon S95 and the Panavise mount, I was able to capture the above video.

Added some music and a little post, and it turned out nicely.

Pics Vids Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Anniversary

RELIVE IT...

The City of Vancouver decided to throw a street party to celebrate the one year anniversary of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games. And though the rain came down pouring, there was still entertainment all around. From ice skating, to street hockey and live music, the rainy weather soon began to disappear in the afternoon, with the relighting of the Olympic Cauldron.

There was no giant fence keeping the crowds at a distance, which was the best decision the city made, giving everyone an up close opportunity to enjoy it. (That thing gets warm up close!) It was great seeing all the people come out to enjoy the anniversary, and reminisce about the Olympics of 2010, which helped put Vancouver on the map, and helped push the city to mature.

Here are some pics and timelapse vids I took while out and about during the celebration event.

Canon PowerShot S95 Time Lapse Miniature Mode

Canon Powershot S95 Time Lapse Miniature Mode - Grouse Mountain Chair Lift (HD) from Albert Art on Vimeo.

The chair-lift video was taken on Grouse Mountain, during a snowboard trip.

Testing out Canon PowerShot S95

I've been really enjoying my Canon PowerShot S95. For such a compact point-and-shoot camera, the manual options are great for still photos. The video feature on the other hand is something of a bonus, specifically the Miniature Mode timelapse.

These vids (above and below) were recorded at 1280x720 Miniature.

I had my S95 handy in the city after snowboarding, so I decided to capture the snow at Main St. and Broadway, in Vancouver.

The manual options on the Canon PowerShot S95, are great for getting some excellent quality photos. Though there is also a Miniature Mode setting for Still photos, the pics below were taken in manual settings, (NOT IN MINIATURE MODE).

Penny Arcade Expo 2010 Timelape Kinect Gears of War
WATCH IN HD!

PAX 2010, a partial time-lapse.

Another expo has come and gone, leaving attendees exhausted from all the fun, but eager for what awaits in next year's expo. With the weekend long event now over, looking back at some of the sights and sounds of PAX is a good way to get all excited once again, and if you've never been to PAX perhaps these wonderful images would convince you to attend in 2011.

I wanted to make a video that captured the hustle and bustle of the Penny Arcade Expo, and what better way to do so than with a time-lapse. I figured since the majority of the time, gamers at PAX are either waiting in lines, or sitting on beanbags, the best time to film PAX would be as attendees enter the building.

And speaking of lines, I've been to all sorts of conventions, from E3, TGS, GDC to SDCC, and I think PAX has hit the point where the Expo floor, has become just like any other convention. Waiting in lines certainly feels that way. Lots of waiting, and waiting.

But don't let my mention of long expo lines dissuade you from attending the Penny Arcade Expo. The convention is filled with a multitude of things to do, see, and play, the Expo floor, is merely an aspect of the craziness. I may not have gotten to everything I wanted to film, but this should be enough.

The video above is actually a partial time-lapse, in addition to regular speed footage of random gaming, from Kinect, to Marvel vs. Capcom 3, even a Tetris Tourney, as well as a PAX party at the tail end.

Who knows, you might appear in the video and not even know it!

Enjoy!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010!

2010

HEY EVERYONE! I hope you all had a great holiday. I sure did. But now the vacation is over, and it's time to get cracking on some new stuff for the year.

I hope to be doing more custom toys, and more short films, so definitely stay tuned to this blog, or any of my facebook fanpages.

My short film Lazy Susan, should be in at least one festival this year, hopefully more! Be sure to spread the word about LazySusanFilm.com

I also shot a new short film, (this time strictly for the web), when I was in LA, called CREEP. The website for the short should be online soon, and the film itself should be done within the next few weeks. It was a one day shoot, on a zero budget, but we made it happen, and it turned out great!

2009 was a tough year, full of challenges, like the long production of Lazy Susan, which seemed like it would never end, or even see the light of day. But thankfully, it's done, and I feel like it was a BIG accomplishment. Now I feel like I can take on anything!

Lastly, here's some footage I took while in Vegas during the Holiday.
